Saturday was a great day for the Warriors as our game and fundraising effort for Soccer Without Borders got off to a great start. Off the field we collected cleats, soccer balls, shin guards, cones, and even a portable goal all for SWB! These items are actually going to accompany SWB volunteer Ben Gucciardi to Uganda when he leaves on May 7th.On the field we also did very well beating Dominican University 4-0. The game got off to a great start in the 12th minute when Jade hit a long ball off the far post. It bounced out to the top of the box where Tiffani pounced on it and blasted it into the back of the net. Eight minutes later Lisa followed a great shot from Adrienne and got the rebound after the Dominican goalkeeper made a great save to give the Warriors a 2-0 advantage. In the 36th minute Jade hit a great corner kick. After a scramble in front of the net Mel poked it in for a 3-0 half-time lead. In the second half Maryanne added a goal on a great cross from Bri McClain. Jessica and Sabel combined for the shutout in the goal!
Don't forget Saturday is our Alumni Game. It kicks off at 12:00 p.m. We will be collected for SWB again on that day. The game will be at the Turlock Sports Complex.
